U.S.A.Many American flags have been flying in support of America. Please encourage all those who have torn or tattered flags to bring them to our Veterans Services office located in the Leominster City Hall. The flags will be prepared for proper disposal on Veterans Day.

All citizens should be made aware of the fact that when a flag is in such condition that it is no longer a fitting emblem for display, it should not be cast aside or used in any way that might be viewed as disrespectful to the national colors, but rather the flag should be disposed of in an appropriate manner.

PRESCRIPTION BENEFITS
Due to a change in federal rules, more elders and people with disabilities are eligible for free prescription drug assistance from the state. The federal poverty level has been increased. On April 1st 2000, the maximum income level climbed to $15,708 for an individual and $21,156 for a married couple.

Eligibility for the Pharmacy Program PLUS, which provided an unlimited prescription benefit to low and middle-income elders with severe drug expenses rose to $41,760 for a 1-person household and $56,256 for a 2-person household. Elder Affairs and the Division of Medical Assistance administer these programs. These programs help qualified people meet the spiraling cost of prescription medications.
